Monster Cross 2021 Update:
It was still all rather 'lockdowny' and a bit too 'virusy' for Monster Cross to happen in February this year at Delamere. However, we have put the back up plan into effect and the plan is now to hold the event on 9th May 2021 at Catton Park, on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire boarder.
Places in the race are now available, click on the link below and get your good self involved.
Final event instructions, details and covid mitigation measures will be confirmed by email to entrants ahead of the event.
In the meantime give us a follow on Facebook or Instagram to keep up to date with further announcements.

We love a bit of cross. Cross is ace.
But sometimes we're left wanting more. It's hard as hell at the time, but before long it feels like it's all over too soon. That's where Monster Cross comes in - it's like cross, but more cross. Awesome like cyclocross, just with more awesomeness; 3 hours long with a course featuring more singletrack, more run ups, more hurdles & more cowbells.
On May 9th 2021 Monster Cross returns to Catton Park, Derbyshire for another dose of close racing & fun riding, grade-A heckling & beer hand-ups.

Well... it's like a cross race only 3 hours long.
Our course is longer than a regular cx course at 6km, plus it'll be crammed full of interesting features to keep you keen for the entire duration. The race starts at 10am, simply complete as many laps as possible in 3hrs. Solos race on their own, pairs relay-style. If needs be you can take a rest and grab some food mid-race.
And yes, there may be beer hand-ups.

The course is all kinds of ace. The first 2 editions of Monster Cross were held at Catton so we're very familiar with the trails here. Expect plenty of fast fireroads, swoopy singletrack, steep banks & cx-techy descents to play with, plus the odd grassy bit. It will all will linked up with plenty of passing opportunities so there's ample room for everyone to race. The mix of terrain means that it should be a laugh even if we get some muddy conditions.

Run what ya brung...
We have designed the course to favour cross bikes. That would be our first choice of steed & what we'd hope you'd use. But we appreciate not everyone has as a cross bike so your're welcome to join in on any wholly human-powered bike suitable for racing off-road, whether that be an mtb, gravel bike or whatever. There's no silly restrictions on tyre size here. No e-bikes & no tandems though.

directiOns
Monster Cross 2021 is being held at Catton Park, Walton on Trent, DE12 8LN.
To avoid an extremely narrow bridge at Walton on Trent we advise everyone should to approach from the A38 taking the A513 signed for Tamworth and Alrewas. Head towards Tamworth on the A513, after approx. 1.5 miles you will go under a railway bridge. Take the left turn immediately after the bridge. The event arena will be on the right hand side after about 1 mile.
camping
Assuming that we get into 'Step Two' of Boris' roadmap in time, self-contained accommodation is allowed. This means that we will be able to offer some on site camping on the evening of Saturday 8th May.
We had hoped to put on a little pre-event shindig too, but in the interested of safety and clarity this is going to have to be put on hold this year. We should still have some options for take away food and drink on site though.
merch
Monster Cross T-Shirts will be available to order again. They'll be nice qaulity, priced sensibly (no more than £15) and available in a range of sizes to suit your beautiful body. We'll probably have some other Monster Cross bits & bobs too.
